On the morning of May 26, 2025, what was supposed to be a normal school day turned pretty scary near Rao Tula Ram Chowk in Mahendragarh. A Haryana Roadways bus, which was apparently speeding and took a sharp turn too fast, crashed into the RPS School bus (Bus No. 101) coming from Charkhi Dadri.
People who saw it said the roadways bus driver was driving carelessly and messed up the turn, hitting the school bus that was full of kids. Five students got hurt from the crash. “It could’ve been way worse,” said a local shopkeeper, pointing at a tractor-trolley parked nearby. “That tractor with its heavy load stopped the school bus from tipping over.”Luckily, the police came quickly. The injured kids were taken to the hospital and later sent back home safe. No one died, but the whole thing has worried the community a lot. Parents and locals are now demanding that the careless roadways driver be punished and that the government make stricter rules for public transport drivers.
“This is about our kids’ safety,” said one parent from RPS School. “We need drivers who care about lives, not just rushing around.”
This scary accident should be a wake-up call for the authorities to do something about road safety and stop reckless driving before something worse happens.
